hey nidhi...I'm a wizard too !! ( hi five ! )
My Inner Hero - Wizard!

There are many types of magic, but all require a sharp mind and a cool head. There is no puzzle I can't solve, no problem I can't think my way out of. When you feel confused or uncertain, you can always rely on me to untangle the knots and put everything back in order for you.
You're intelligent, educated, and just a bit superior to everyone you know. If you're still in school, you probably make A's, if you're not too bored to waste the effort. If you work, your annoying boss relies on you to solve the problems no one else can figure out. You've never met a puzzle you can't solve. When it comes to leisure, you'd rather read, play a strategy game, or surf the 'Net than run around getting sweaty. You're a brainiac, and you're not ashamed to admit it.
Above all, you're a mastermind and a great thinker. You see the unknown as territory to be conquered, and the mysterious as something to be systematically unraveled. You don't have time for fools; you only spend your time with people who can comprehend your obfuscatory convolutions. You enjoy amassing knowledge, both useful and trivial.
Your Mission:
You were put on this earth to enlighten people. They will listen to you, because they are impressed by your vocabulary, your erudition, and your ability to grasp concepts that invariably elude them. You are the one who has to figure things out, because let's face it - you're the only one smart enough.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to Discover Something. Something small, or something big. Find an unknown insect in your own backyard. Discover a cure for sunburn. Develop a faster way to get the dishes done. Calculate the number of molecules in the Andromeda galaxy. Discover a comet. Discover SOMETHING.
And do make it a priority. The Famous Adventurer of Silmaria has a crystal ball trained on you, and will be noting your progress.
A Warning:
Try to remember: you're not infallible. If people around you are all nodding and smiling, it may just be because they don't have the faintest idea what you're talking about. Check your facts and admit the possibility that even you can make mistakes.
On another note - making plans and formulating theories can be quite stimulating, but at some point, you are going to have to actually DO something.
How about you? Click here to find your own inner hero.

My Adventures so far...( part- I )
#1. Orientation Day : Was late to college. Missed the half-an-hour Orientation Speech about ragging and the history of our college. No regrets.
Greeted SP(that teacher) with a warm smile. Registered for AIESEC.
#2. Orientation Day : Found a friend. :)
#3. First Day(I) : We had Chemistry practical class (3 hours and 40 minutes long) first thing in the morning. The teacher dismissed the class saying that we could not perform experiments since we were not carrying our lab coats. We (a bunch of 5 girls) happily grabbed the first opportunity to stroll down to Bungalow Road ( My favorite place to hang-out). But, silly and confused as we were, on the first day of college, we did not realize that the market does not open before 11.00 am and landed there at 10.00 am. We kept on looking for any-air-conditioned-roof-to-save-us-from-the-evil-sun. That was quite an adventure for me since I got to know those people better and that helped me choose my friends.
#4. First Day(II) : A very short (shorter than me) shabbily dressed peon (SC..we call teachers by their initials..funny,no? ) entered our classroom and started teaching. Minutes later, I realized he was a professor. No matter how hard I tried (even sat on the front desk on the first day of college), I could not understand a word of his hour-long lecture.(and this was my first lecture in college, by the way)
#5. First Day(III) : As soon as SC went out of the class, a short (again, shorter than me) and very old lady with an evil grin entered the class. She mocked at us, humiliated us, asked me to wipe the blackboard with a duster, tried to explain to us what a horrible woman she is ( she actually did that), and what a devil she may turn into if we come late to her class , etc etc. All in all, I don't like her. She is SBM...Saroj Bala Mallik (no pun intended..thats her real name..lol)
#6. First Day(IV) : All of us bunked the 2 hour-long physics practical class which was cancelled, anyway.
#7. Second Day(I) : Again, had to face SP with a smile. She teaches well, you know. Carries self-made notes in her hand and copies each and every word on the blackboard. But that doesn't matter..atleast she makes me understand "Circles".
Met our Algebra techer ...KG (kindergarten..haha!)
SBM let us free and tried hard to convince us that the cause of her being busy was not her sleepiness, but a meeting.(lol..i love to make fun of funny teachers)
#8. Second Day(II) : Walked up to the canteen in the hope of being ragged..but all in vain !!
#9. Third Day : We had a free period right after the first. Me and one of my friends decided to utilize the free time and went to the DTC Bus Pass Counter to get a Students' Bus Pass made. We asked the way from fellow pedestrians..and were misled a bit..had to take a very long route...reached our destination..realized that we had just ten minutes left before SBM's lecture..we started running..took the back gate to Stephens'..ran through the whole length...giggling..and thinking of how we must be looking..and of Tom Cruise running in mission impossible....crossed the road..started running again..till we saw our seniors coming..stopped to save ourselves from embarrassment..and then..started running again..till we reached the class..and entered the class with red-n-sweaty faces and suppressed smiles..
SBM teaches us Integral Calculus. I hate her accent (pronounces "equals to" as "equaarrhs thoo " and "Integration" as "Intheguurrations" to be more specific). I wonder, what's with the extra Rs. I could not understand "reduction formulae" . The whole of the class was staring blankly at her and trying to understand...what the hell..she was teaching !
Its a new world altogether !!
Its been two weeks since I've been going to college n I'm loving it totally!! though I found it pretty boring in the beginning..But I've discovered sooo many things about college life..that I didn't know..It feels like a different world altogether as soon as I cross the college gates every morning..I hope this euphoric feeling lasts forever !

Had a bad day....
OK..so I'm back, guys. Sorry for the long wait. Taking admission in a Delhi University College is surely a helluva task. I mean, it involves so much of running around and getting things signed from different people and standing in queues and waiting for the so-called-professional teachers and principal to arrive at the college, that too, 2.5 hours after the time admissions are supposed to start. OK, so to begin my tale...I went to Hindu College on Thursday, the 12th for getting admitted to the college for B.Sc. Mathematics (Honours) course. I already had got admission in Hansraj College, which is a highly reputed college mainly for its faculty. But, I wanted to get admission in Hindu, because of the fact that Hindu College is one of the 3 oldest and best colleges in Delhi(The other two are St. Stephen's and SRCC) and I know that it would affect my CV a great deal at a later date when I'll be going for interviews and stuff like that. The teacher-in-charge there asked me a question relating to application of Roulle's Theorem..which I obviously did not remember and hence could not answer. By the way, this is no criteria for admitting students to a DU college.First, she was silly to do such a stupid thing. Second, she asked me why have I come to Hindu from such a nice college like Hansraj , and what she said in precise words was : "upar se dimaag khaali hai kya...jo hansraj se idhar aa gaye.." . Now this made no sense to me. I mean, what was she wanting to say..she was plainly insulting the institution SHE belonged to and the institution that paid HER household bills. Third, she had an irritating voice and a highly, mind you, highly irritating style of talking. I tried to be as nice as I could. I even told her that I'm sorry that I did not remember this particular theorem, that I had a lot to learn from her and from the college and even smiled at her highly nonsensical jokes. She asked me which topic would I prefer to be asked a question from. I told her she can ask me anything from the whole of calculus. But then , she continued the examination of previously filled forms and did not look up. I kept on saying, " Ma'am please ask me a question and make this quick" ..but she did not even bother to look up. My dad had been listening to the whole conversation and had been encouraging me to keep my calm and handle her in a polite manner because he says, " These are the kind of people you'll have to deal when you grow up, go into jobs and stuff...so take this in a positive way..think that you are learning something by this." But after an hour of my standing there and literally begging her for the admission form, he got up and asked the teacher for the admission form. And guess what she said : " One of you parents only had requested that I check the previously filled forms first. So, let me complete this first and I'll give you the forms later." Dad had had enough. He raised his voice a bit and said, " You gotta have some discretion in that case...and its logical that you simultaneously give out the forms to these people ( there were 5 of us by the way, trying hard to solve the question) because they'll also need some time to fill 'em up..by the time you'll have finished examining the previously filled form." Now, the teacher was shaken and finding it hard to utter a word after that highly unexpected answer, that too in English with a fluency she would find hard to understand anyway, she threw the forms at me. I said in a crisp tone- "Thank you very much ma'am" and left. I was fuming with anger. I was seething with anger. I was going to blow off any moment. I was mad at the teacher for humiliating me like that. It was the first time in many months that I had got sooooo angry. I came back home. Slept. Had a bad dream(Something about math). Woke up. Did not feel any better. Went out to breathe some fresh air. Had a glass of chilled water. Listened to some music. Felt much better. I was having second thoughts about going to that college as that teacher could probably take revenge by cutting my marks in yearly examinations and possibly, might even ruin my (now-well-planned) career graph. Later in the evening, it was decided that I would meet that teacher the very next day, when I would go to deposit the fee and would apologize for my behaviour and also on my dad's behalf...so that I could kill the slightest of the chance that she might hate me for life and take her revenge. Next day, I went up to her. Apologized. Was forgiven. Now all's well. And though it took me almost half an hour to type in this entry...I feel soooo much better now.

wah taj !!!
Taj Mahal has been voted as no. 1 on the list of the seven wonders of the world. I'm proud of Taj, my country and also its population (for a change) because had we not been such an overpopulated country, 80 million people would not have voted for Taj. Yea...thats superb I know..80 million!!! Whoaa...thats something !!! I was thrilled when I heard Taj made it to the final seven. At last some good news for India, I thought. (Keeping in mind the disastrous cricket world cup 2007) . Last night , there was this program on India TV where people were calling up just to express how happy they were on hearing this news. It was nice to hear that people really feel for their country, as much as I do. But the problem here is, everyone feels, and thats all they do about it.

So finally...Hi !
Why does it happen that things never (want to) go according to the plan? Well, whatever. Making my own blog was on the top of my list of "28 important things I want to do after my life-sucking exams get over" which also included decorating my room, writing a book, making a picture scrapbook, etc etc. But, as of now, sleeping, lazing around, orkutting (yeah, thats what they call it) and basically, doing nothing has taken up most of my time. So, after many words of encouragement from my dear friend kriti and my super cool brother Prabhas, I finally decided that I should put my new-found energies to work.Trust me, this is the first of the long list of tasks that I have finally accomplished. I am so proud of myself. Though I got a bit bugged up in deciding what template, font colour, and blog title colour, and whatever , whatever, to choose for my blog, now that its done, I think I've done a pretty good job. How do you like it?
